Why goals are so important

Fundamental Number 1 – Goal Setting

How do you know you’ve arrived if you have no idea where you’re going? We catch a plane, drive a car, go to work – we know where we’re going and why.

Well investing is the same – you need to know what your ‘why’ is.

People often say that they are after ‘financial freedom, ‘extra cashflow’, security and the like. Not wanting to be rude – but what the heck does that mean. What you need to do is ask yourself is :

  • Why are you doing what you are doing?
  • Do you want to pay for kids education,
  • Reduce personal debt, take the family on holiday,
  • Get the new car, build an asset base so you can build a legacy,
  • Donate to charity or ????????

At the end of the day if you can’t find what motivates you it is pretty hard to do the things you need to do.
Find a goal that spins your wheels, put a time frame on it, make a commitment and then plan the work and work the plan.
