Part 3: Operations, Systems & Delivery

To date we've run two instalments in a short series of articles about the work PlanA Consulting does around helping develop a business's operational fitness.

We looked at the framework John from PlanA Consulting utilises to assess clients' business condition before developing 12-month strategies and 90-day sprints, and implementation of this planning, We also looked at a couple of case studies profiling two of PlanA's clients.

In this third instalment, we're going to look at another PlanA Consulting client and how John has worked closely with the owners to assess, plan, and ultimately deliver the results they're after.

Hortplus – SaaS / Technology Developer

Hortplus – SaaS / Technology Developer

Hortplus is New Zealand's leading provider of digital solutions to assist and support horticultural growers with decision-making. They develop digital tools that deliver weather data and forecasts, accurate analysis and disease risk modelling in the multi-million-dollar horticulture sector.

Assessment – Hortplus

The results from Hortplus' assessment phase showed the working owners of the business knew the direction they wanted to take but needed assistance with identifying and actioning the necessary steps required to implement and achieve their goals, which were for steady growth in an industry experiencing a dramatic increase in its own growth now and in the future.

Proactive by nature, the working owners alongside John, were able to identify that they needed to carry out a review of staffing levels, roles and workloads, to see if they needed to recruit new members.

It was also established that a brand overhaul was required inclusive of an elevator pitch / brand mantra that succinctly summarised what they're all about. This work would bring clarity to their brand and enable them to better promote their services to the horticultural industry.
